From the moment the series leg landed in New Zealand it was nothing short of heart to mouth electrifying atmosphere both on and off the pitch. With all the top seeded teams having a point to prove, round one matches set the crowd up for prolific series. With Australia so far being the only team to secure a series leg win on home soil the momentum was swinging in their favor, South Africa and New Zealand where looking for a second series win which would put either team ahead in the log standings, Argentina and Fiji setting their eyes for their first win which would put their campaign on track.
The All Black outfit with a massive home advantage put an unprecedented display winning all their pool matches and almost suffering a defeat from the Argentinian side who eventually gifted them a get out jail gift card in dramatic fashion. All the top sides showed their intent on taking the series the leg, however the day belonged to the Fijian troops, showing great skill, determination and sheer will power pulled upsets over Australia, New Zealand and South Africa who they met in the final to secure their first win as they head to Las Vegas.
With 4 series legs played in 4 different countries with 4 different winners one can only wonder what will happen next as the tide turn to USA for the half mark of the series race. Will South Africa finally get a double after a chain of near misses, will Australia steal it on American soil, will Fiji manage back to back wins, will New Zealand get a back their second wind as they set to close the gap on the standings or will the Americans do the unthinkable and also manage a successful home front defense and make sure what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
